Definition
A form of mainly graphical description, documentation and assessment of processes as a basis for computer-aided processing or simulation. Process modelling languages such as eEPK and abstract symbols (DIN 66001) are used for characterisation. Fixed designations (notation such as activity, event) are used, which are linked to each other according to predefined rules (Syntax) so that e.g. a flow chart is created.
