Structure Organisation

Definition

Describes regulations and solutions for the structuring of companies and Institutions into business units, for structuring their cooperation, equipment and their "responsibility". Its documentation is used for business distribution plan and organisational chart. The design of the structure organisation is influenced by the corporate strategy, personal views (owner), factual goals of the company, regional conditions and laws and regulations (e.g. legal form). Forms of structural organisation are for example single line and multi-line organisation, divisional-, matrix-, project- and segment organisation. The design is

  • object (process) oriented, i.e. all procedures and resources necessary for the realisation of certain goods or services are combined regardless of their characteristics (extent, type), in selective cases also under their own management. (Example: segmentation)

  • function-oriented (functional): i.e.  similar positions or tasks are combined in the business units, e.g. purchasing, sales, production.
