Definition
The object principle is easily followed without dependency on fix cycle times. The object, i.e. the work object, is moved from one workstation to the next for processing. The workstations are grouped according to the characteristic of identical or similar objects. According to the flow-principle, only identical work sequences are permitted. The work progress takes place without immediate time commitment i.e. the work process is not clocked. This makes the use of buffers before the workstations necessary.
