Work conditions

Definition

Term encompassing all circumstances and influences that are effective in the fulfilment of tasks; often restricted to people, e.g. technical, physical, chemical, organisational, social (cf. DIN EN ISO 6385:2004). Work conditions therefore also include, for example, the duration and location of working hours, influences from the work organisation (e.g. individual, group work), the recognition of performance and behaviour or team relations. However, work conditions, e.g. dust, also influence equipment and the object of work in some cases. This comprehensive view is partly restricted in the companies, e.g. to environmental influences.
