Task Analysis

Definition

In task analysis, a complex overall task is divided into subtasks. In doing so, tasks of the organizational structure as well as of the process organization are analyzed.

The task analysis can be carried out, for example, according to the task characteristics of execution (action), object (object of the action), rank (position of the person), phase (planning, realization or control task) and purpose (goal). In the subsequent task synthesis, the identified subtasks are combined into task complexes, assigned to individual persons through the creation of positions or instances (organizational structure) and taking into account the factors of space, time and communication, result in regulations for actions and processes (process organization).
