Order control

Definition

Order control describes all the tasks that are involved in processing an order, starting with the acceptance of an order and ending with the shipment of the goods.

It is used to control orders so that the right products are available in the right quantity at the right time at the right place in the right quality throughout the entire production and logistics process. The aim of order control is to minimize inventories and lead times while maximizing capacity utilization and on-time delivery.
