One-piece-flow-organisation (OPF)

Definition

Form of process-oriented work organization; characterized by object-oriented order flow, type sharing, use of the flow principle, complete processing with low lead time, high elasticity, no material inventories, versatile tasks, easy capacity expansion, clear employee responsibility, economical one-piece production, and circular or u-shaped work system layout. Employees accompany the flow of work or the work item from operation to operation. OPF is therefore also referred to as employee-bound work flow, which is based on multi-work center work organization.
