Ishikawa-Diagram

Definition

Form of illustration of cohesion and effects of several influencing variables on an issue of interest. Helps to identify the cause of existing problems. Principle: Ana arrow pointing to the right highlights the issue of interest e.g. work error. Possible influencing factors will be added as keywords with arrows diagonally to the main arrow. Influencing factors such as i.e. the 6 M are used: man, machine, material, milieu, method, measurement and also management. Now it is easier to ascertain what may cause work errors.
