Definition
Describes the active and therefore most important element in the work system and in the work process. Only the worker, as the actual agent, is in a position to act on his own initiative and to use operating and working equipment. The prerequisite for his successful activity in the work system is on the one hand his ability to perform and on the other hand the ergonomic design of his working area (place of action, operating area, working conditions). His individual capacity enables him to carry out the task properly and economically, provided that it meets the requirements of the task. The work situation is adapted to the respective user(s) through work design.
