The Siemens factory in Manaus manufactures electronic material for production plants. The company employs 60 staff members in administration and over 500 staff members in production on an area of over 60.000 m2. Globally Siemens relies on the international further vocational training provided by REFA International AG. Five young engineers from the industrial engineering department have now participated in a REFA-Coaching with the aim of being able to conduct analyses of ergonomic risk factors, process analyses and time studies according to REFA independently.
After a short theoretical introduction, the contents taught were immediately put to practical use. Solutions for the identified improvement opportunities were worked out and put into practice straight away during the coaching. The success of the coaching was certainly down to the pleasant working atmosphere and open interaction amongst each other.
