How does modern maintenance management work?

Maintenance management is currently faced with exceptional challenges. On the one hand production facilities are becoming ever more complex due to their increased networking and, on the other hand the efficiency of value creation is meant to increase steadily. REFA International AG, together with Eckert Schools International, presented modern methods and tools of an economic and effective maintenance management in a 3-day webinar at the beginning of April 2021 to Chinese entrepreneurs for the first time. The content of the training was met with great interest and received a great deal of positive feedback.

The People's Republic of China began fundamental reforms in the economic sector in 1978. The result visible today is a profound change in corporate structure. The share of private enterprises in the market has risen dramatically and amounted in 2018 to 84.1 percent in China. Thereby performing crucial functions, from creating jobs to the supply of retail and consumer goods. As anywhere else in the world increasing the efficiency in production is important here. A modern maintenance management which reduces the downtimes of production facilities, increases the utilisation rate and boosts output is essential. In addition, an efficient organisation and a target-oriented controlling to ensure smooth processes for high plant availability is important. Otherwise, disruptions can quickly lead to financial losses for the company.

The webinar sporting the topic "Modern Maintenance Management" lasting 3 days, which REFA International organised and conducted in close cooperation with Eckert Schools International from the 9th to the 13th of April was therefore met with great interest. With this training of young managers private companies in the Chinese province of Hebei were addressed. During this time, the participating entrepreneurs not only learned about examples of successful maintenance management but were able to work out actual model solution themselves in order to later adapt them to the needs of their company.

The participants were incredibly positive about the content of the webinar and about the way the complex topic was presented by experienced experts from REFA International AG and Eckert Schools International. The mixture of practical examples, reports on experiences and open discussions was well accepted and received great approval. The feedback about the structure and implementation, concept and organisation was high.

The positive feedback given about this event shows that there is a need for further vocational training - not only about modern maintenance management - especially in China and that the demand for such training is high. REFA International AG and Eckert Schools are taking up these suggestions and will offer more webinars in close cooperation in the future.
